Hérouville, le château hanté du rock est un livre emblématique sur les coulisses des plus grands albums rock des années 1970 et 1980, l'histoire d'un studio d'enregistrement où se sont notamment croisés David Bowie, Iggy Pop, Marvin Gaye, Jacques Higelin, les Bee Gees, Chet Baker, Pink Floyd, Fleetwood Mac ou Elton John. Laurent Jaoui retrace l'histoire emblématique du château d'Hérouville, un studio d'enregistrement où se sont notamment croisés David Bowie, Iggy Pop, Marvin Gaye, Jacques Higelin, les Bee Gees, Chet Baker, Pink Floyd, Fleetwood Mac ou Elton John.
En 1960, le compositeur Michel Magne achète le château pour y installer son studio d'enregistrement. Très vite, le château devient un lieu de fêtes et d'excès en tout genre. En 1974, endetté il confie la gérance à Laurent Thibault : "Les dettes, tu les effaces en signant les artistes". Après avoir réaménagé et modernisé les lieux, il fait revenir les plus grands artistes internationaux. L'aventure se poursuivra jusqu'en 1985.
